Supplemental

SupplementalThese are not officially part of our curriculum but they fit in. My dad sent a Winnie the Pooh Learning Adventure video for Christmas. It was great. This fall I bought 3 more. We are eagerly awaiting the release of 2 more in January 2008. While Disney makes learning videos featuring other characters, my kids really enjoy Pooh. I think it is wholesome while some of the others are more questionable. They are geared ages 2-5 and PreK-K so both kids enjoy watching them. Each episode is about half an hour with a bonus game activity at the end to reinforce the topic. They also have several books in the Winnie-the-Pooh First Readers collection and some Pooh board books.

Winnie the Pooh: Shapes and Sizes

Winnie the Pooh: Wonderful Word Adventure

Winnie the Pooh: ABC’s

Winnie the Pooh: 123’s

This is America, Charlie Brown is a 2 disc set about American history featuring the Peanuts gang.

Skill Building Early Learning Activities Grade 1: American Education Publishing

While this 416 page activity book does not directly teach anything, it has lots of different puzzles, games and other activities to reinforce learning. He thinks it is a lot of fun and is learning problem solving skills.
